Curriculum

In 1991, the Michigan State Board of Education developed the Michigan Model Core Curriculum, as well as Essential Goals and Assessment Frameworks in each subject area. Since that time, Edwardsburg High School developed outcomes, activities, goals and objectives that follow State guidelines. Beginning in the 1995-96 academic year, the State Department of Education measured success of the Core Curriculum by administering proficiency tests. This determines whether or not these outcomes and objectives have been a part of a student's school experience.

In addition to the courses taught at Edwardsburg High School, students have the opportunity to dual enroll at the Elkhart Area Career Center, Andrews University, Glen Oaks Community College, Indiana University South Bend, and Southwestern Michigan College. Students participate in college-level and college credit courses or receive training in career and skilled trade opportunities.
