Dear Parents/Guardians:

I am looking forward to working with your son/daughter this school year.   I have been teaching at Edwardsburg for over 25 years.  My first five years were spent at the Chicago Road Building, teaching Alternative Education.  I’m excited about teaching Economics and Civics.  At the beginning of every school year, I like to share some professional and personal information about myself with the parents and students.

I was born and raised just outside of Detroit, Michigan.  After several childhood moves, I ended up in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from South Bend LaSalle High School.  I attended Huntington University, in Huntington Indiana, and received my B.S. in Psychology and Secondary Education with minors in Economics, Sociology, and Political Science.  I have my master’s degree in education from Marygrove College in Detroit.

My wife Aimee (Alfano) attended Huntington University also.  She is a graduate of Edwardsburg High School (Class of 89).  We have three beautiful children: Emily, Josh, and Adam.  Aimee brought me to Edwardsburg over 30 years ago.  Edwardsburg is now home.

Professionally, I am committed to the Edwardsburg High School administration, faculty, students, and parents.  My mission is to reach every student on an individual basis.  Each one of my students will be treated with a very high level of respect.  I will inspire students to learn material defined by the school board in the curriculum guidelines.  I will also assist my students in achieving their own personal goals during and after their high school careers.  Lastly, I want my students to know that they have support from family members, friends, and teachers to guide them throughout their life.
