Teaching assignment: U.S. History and Economics
Basic Information:
Hi! My name is Mr. Stephen Wright. I am 40 years young! I live in South Bend with my wife, Becky, and our two beautiful children, Mia (12) and Paxton (6). We have two dogs whose names are Rosy and Maggie. I enjoy being outdoors in summer, playing golf and working in the yard. In the winter, I love to watch basketball. But mostly, I love spending time with friends and family. I will be your child’s U.S. History or Economics teacher for this school year. This will be my 17th year teaching and I’m excited to make it my best year yet!
Education:
I grew up in Cassopolis, MI where I attended Cassopolis Public Schools from Kindergarten through graduation. I knew from a young age that I wanted to become a teacher, like my father, so I enrolled in Western Michigan University. In December of 2005, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education in History with a minor in Social Studies. I received my Master’s Degree in The Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in spring 2009.
Coaching:
I love basketball! I’ve been a coach at Edwardsburg for 15 years. Six of those were at the freshmen and junior varsity levels. Eight years ago, I began my career as the varsity coach. Currently I am in my third season as varsity girls golf coach, which is a new athletic program to Edwardsburg. Please come out and support our Eddies!
