World History

Hello Parents/Guardians & Students,

The World History & Geography course encompasses the history of the world from the Middle Ages to today.  We will begin with an introductory review on basic terms and skills needed to understand and analyze the extensive topics we will be covering. We will then approach history in a chronological sequence, focusing especially on major themes—conflict, economic conditions, technological revolutions, religion, culture, political upheaval, and the exchange of goods and ideas. Our major emphasis in second semester will be the modern world (the world wars and beyond) to provide students with a greater understanding of the impact that history has on our present.

As an Edwardsburg graduate, I am excited to share my passion for history with the next generation of Eddies. After receiving my Bachelor's from the University of Michigan in History, Psychology, and Secondary Education, I spent more than a decade teaching for Plymouth-Canton Community schools in the metro-Detroit area. There I taught everything from AP Psychology to US History, World History, and Sociology. Along the way, I earned my Master's degree in Social Studies from Eastern Michigan University. Though I loved my job, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to move back to the community I love.

I'm looking forward to another excellent school year. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me: [email protected].

Thank you,
Lindsey Mette Sindelar
