High School Visual Art

Hello Edwardsburg Families!

My name is Becky Coleman and this is my sixth year teaching Visual Art at Edwardsburg High School.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Indiana University South Bend and received my teaching certification through Goshen College.  My husband and I live in Cassopolis with our two children who attend school here in Edwardsburg.  I am looking forward to another amazing school year!

In addition to teaching High School art classes, I enjoy making wheel-thrown pottery. Over the summer I spend a lot of time in my home pottery studio!

About the art program:

EHS offers several Visual Art classes including Art Fundamentals, Drawing and Painting, Advanced Art 1 and 2, and Ceramics 1, 2 and 3. Each class focuses on art terms and vocabulary, building skills in various mediums, learning new techniques, and learning about art criticism and aesthetics. Students will study artworks created throughout history in addition to learning about contemporary artists working today.  Students create in-depth projects that showcase skills learned throughout the year.  The combination of instruction, studio time and constructive feedback gives students the tools they need to confidently and effectively communicate their artistic vision.
